WE ARE COUCH DOG…

A four piece indie rock band based out of San Luis Obispo, CA. WE MAKE MUSIC FOR DANCING, CRYING, AND KISSING.

Couch Dog is Pablo Acosta (lead guitar), Max Ferrer (vocals and rhythm guitar), Tasha Lee (bass) and Josh Cheruvelil (drums). Originally started in 2019, Couch Dog quickly cultivated a strong local community and gained notoriety across California by playing shows all along the coast

From performing a sold-out Fremont Theater show to 900+ people, to opening for the Frights/Sad Park and Dayglow in 2023, to playing consistent DIY house shows, to playing SLO’s Shabang festival 2 years in a row (with Men I Trust, STRFKR, TV Girl, Hippo Campus, Vundabar, etc,), they have done it all. Couch Dog’s low-fi debut EP “Bad and Better Than Ever” was self-produced and released in 2021, garnering local acclaim. In 2023, their debut album “How To Ruin Your Life Fast” was released under the engineering work of Griffin Breshears. The band was able to refine/expand their sound and get more ambitious, with a 14 track, 50 minute LP. This record gained a worldwide following, and led them to their first California tour.

Couch Dog has a unique visual identity, as well as strong and consistent marketing that has led to tangible streaming success and recognizability online/across the local music scenes. They have amassed 25k+ followers on Tasha’s TikTok (@uncleagonist), which has garnered fans from worldwide. Their marketing strategies have included creating an interactive hotline, a phone booth/photo booth that they bring to our shows, a slasher/horror music video, and staging boxing matches in the pit during their sets. They like to have fun 😉

With an even more ambitious project in the works and preparing to play at Shabang 2024 (alongside Thundercat and Peach Pit), the band is looking forward to expanding their career in 2024.
